Welcome to the Cool Schools Challenge at Thanks4Giving!
The Cool Schools Challenge is an inclusive program established to have Unified Champion School students and staff participate in the Turkey Dash 5K & Splash while raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey. A portion of the money raised by the schools is returned as a part of a revenue share to fund future Unified Champion programming.

Registration Deadlines
Turkey Dash 5k (in-person) online registration will close, Monday, November 14th at 11:59 p.m.
Turkey Splash online registration will close, Thursday, November 17th at 11:59 p.m.
You can still register on event day. It will be $35 for the Turkey Dash 5k, $100 for the Turkey Splash, or $135 for both.
Fundraising Incentives
The more money you raise, the more you will help your school! The Turkey Dash 5K is based on individual fundraising efforts. The Turkey Splash is team fundraising. For the Turkey Splash, schools will compete as teams, with a minimum of 10 Splashers.
The fee to run in the Turkey Dash 5k is $35. Fundraising over $35 earns money back.
The Turkey Splash registration fee is $100 per plunger. For each plunger who raises the
minimum $100, $25 will be awarded back to their school.
Runners who raise over $35 for the Turkey Dash 5k will receive 50% over that amount raised.
EXAMPLE OF A DASHER RAISING $100: $100 – $35 = $65 / 50% = $32.50 to your school account!
Any Turkey Splasher who raises more than $100 will also receive 50% over that amount raised in addition to the automatic $25. Here is an example of how raising more money helps your school:
TURKEY SPLASH SCHOOL TEAM “A”
Each Splasher raises the minimum of $100.
Total School Team “A” $ Raised: $1,000.
School Team “A” will receive $250 back.
$25 x 10 Splashers @ $100 minimum = $250
TURKEY SPLASH SCHOOL TEAM “B”
Each Splasher raises a total of $250.
Total School Team “B” $ Raised: $2,500.
School Team “B” will receive $1,000 back.
$25 x 10 Splashers @ $100 minimum = $250
Splashers each raise $250 – $100 = $150 / 50% = $75
$75 x 10 plungers = $750 additional
$750 additional + $250 automatically back = $1,000
